Walterio Mayol-Cuevas

Walterio Mayol-Cuevas is a results-driven innovator and thought leader with over 20 years of experience in scientific and technology leadership. They have held positions as Principal Research Scientist and Applied Scientists' Manager at Amazon, leading pioneering initiatives in computer vision, machine learning, and generative AI. Walterio was a founding member and Deputy Director of the Bristol Robotics Laboratory, making significant contributions to robotics research and education in Europe. They have also served as a professor at the University of Bristol, where they accelerated various research projects and led the university's first Robotics Research Group. Walterio is currently pursuing a BSc in Computer Engineering at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and a DPhil at the University of Oxford.
