Xi Chen

Xi Chen is a Senior Applied Scientist at Amazon since April 2019, focusing on building store foundation models within the Search Science and AI team in Palo Alto. Previously, Xi served as a Senior NLU Research Application Scientist at Nuance Communications, where expertise was applied in designing high-accuracy data-driven Natural Language Understanding models for voice-controlled devices and leading the Dragon TV project. Earlier experiences include working as a Big Data Scientist at Walsh Integrated analyzing client data and providing business intelligence insights, and an internship at Bombardier, designing scheduling algorithms for AFDX networks. Xi also has academic experience as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at McGill University, contributing to various projects related to quality of service in networked real-time systems. Xi holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from McGill University and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University.
