Yanbei Chen

Yanbei Chen is currently a Senior Applied Scientist at Amazon, working on the Amazon Nova Understanding Models, launched at re:Invent 2024. Prior to this role, Yanbei completed a postdoctoral research position at the Cluster of Excellence Machine Learning at the University of Tübingen, focusing on deep learning and computer vision. Yanbei earned a PhD from Queen Mary University of London, where their research concentrated on developing semi-supervised and unsupervised deep learning algorithms for visual data exploitation. In addition, Yanbei has held positions at Amazon Web Services and Tencent, contributing to various multimodal deep learning projects.
