Yi Xu

Yi Xu is a Senior Applied Science Manager at Amazon, leading the Rufus Alignment team in developing Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF) and Interactive Fine-Tuning (IFT) solutions for large language model alignment. As a founding manager of Rufus, Yi also played a pivotal role in creating Amazon's conversational shopping assistant. Previous experience includes managing the M5 Core Modeling team, which developed large-scale, multi-modal models serving over 200 machine learning teams, and various roles within the Alexa division focusing on personalization and deep learning. Yi Xu's academic background includes a PhD and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and Probability and Statistics from Auburn University, along with a Master's degree from Tsinghua University and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China.
