Yuhua Chen

Yuhua Chen is an experienced applied scientist currently building next-generation foundation models at Amazon since April 2025. Previously, Yuhua served as Staff Machine Learning Scientist and AI Research Lead at Q Bio from September 2021 to April 2025, driving strategic AI initiatives in medical imaging, including the integration of multi-modal large language models with visual foundation models. This role followed a tenure as Sr. Machine Learning Scientist at Q Bio, where Yuhua led the development of deep learning models that enhanced MRI technology by improving scan speed and image quality significantly. Yuhua's earlier experience includes positions as a Machine Learning Engineer, Research Intern at notable organizations like NVIDIA, Philips, and Samsung Electronics, and a Visting Graduate Student at Cedars-Sinai while pursuing a PhD in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from UCLA. Academic credentials include dual Master's degrees in Computer Science and Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering from Northeastern University.
