AMB! was founded in Hamburg in 1999 by Ralf Browatzki. The boutique style talent acquisition agency expanded quickly in the early 2000’s due to Ralf’s ability to leverage his career in a variety of  maritime industry organisations such as Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, DFDS Scandinavian Seaways as well as  British Airways and his experience in a global Executive Search organisation. 

In the early stages of the agency, there was a clear disconnect between candidates looking for new opportunities as well as the companies being able to attract the right talent. The success of the organisation was fuelled by Ralf’s vision to connect candidates with the right organisations. 

The agency grew rapidly and in 2004, the company was moved to Limassol. At this time, the services of talent acquisition for technical and commercial positions in the general marine industry also expanded to ship financing, marine insurance as well as Port and Terminal management soon after. AMB! sources talent for all levels of positions, from entry level to C-level Management. AMB is qualified in sourcing talent in all maritime sectors, however, expertise can be found in areas such as new/green fuels, digital shipping, communication, maritime navigation and all aspects of ship financing. In 2020 the organisation moved from Limassol to be incorporated in Horta, in the Acores in Portugal. Further in 2021, the organisation was also established in Ireland. 

In 2024, AMB! operates globally from Portugal, Ireland, Poland, Dubai and Brazil. Further expansion with carefully chosen associates will soon see AMB operate in the Asia Pacific and North American regions too.
