Amber Biology is a digital biology consulting firm working at the intersection of science & computation.

With decades of experience working in academic and commercial environments ranging from universities and medical schools to small venture capital-funded startups and global pharmaceutical companies, we founded Amber Biology to meet the unique demands of life science and other research organizations seeking to bring the power of scientific computing to their own R&D programs.

Offering a simple and customer-centric fee-for-service model, Amber Biology’s consultants have successfully applied their specialist skills in algorithm design, data analysis, simulation, and software development, to a wide range of life science research areas including the engineering of therapeutic proteins and nucleic acids, disease diagnosis algorithms, population genetics, exobiology and exoplanet detection, and laboratory robot design.

Our clients include major research universities on both U.S. coasts, and commercial life science companies both in the U.S. and in Europe. We are also a contractor on the NASA Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) mission, that was launched from Cape Canaveral in April 2018.
