Markus von Willert has a diverse work experience in various fields. Markus recently worked as the Principal Partnership Manager DACH at AMBOSS, a medical education software company. Prior to that, they were the editor of the private forest portal, www.waldhilfe.de, and worked as a specialist consultant in forest and sustainability at Deutsche Säge- und Holzindustrie (DeSH). Markus has also held roles as a project leader and coordinator at AGDW - Die Waldeigentümer, a forest policy advisor and expert at StMELF, and as a project manager at wald-wird-mobil.de gemeinnützige GmbH. Markus von Willert also has experience in academia, working as a doctoral candidate and lecturer in forest policy analysis at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. Markus has also worked as a research intern at the university and held positions as a project employee and intern at Unique Forestry Consultants, where they worked on projects related to GIS analysis, forest growth modeling, and biodiversity assessment.
Markus von Willert holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in International Forest Ecosystem Management from Fachhochschule Eberswalde, which they obtained from 2006 to 2009. Markus further pursued their education at The University of Göttingen and obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Forstwissenschaften und Waldökologie from 2010 to 2012. Markus also holds a certification in M.Sc. Forstwissenschaften und Waldökologie from Georg-August-Universität Göttingen.
