Marcelo Copat

Marcelo Copat is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in intellectual property and business strategy. Currently serving as Sr. Patent Counsel at Ambu A/S since January 2022, Marcelo previously spent 14 years as a Partner at Faegre Drinker. Earlier in the career, key roles included Director of Intellectual Property and Business Strategy at Tredegar Film Products Corporation, where responsibilities encompassed managing IP activities, leading business plan development, and engaging in acquisitions and licensing. Additionally, Marcelo held various positions including Director of Research and Technology and Managing Director for Europe, overseeing business and manufacturing operations for a US company’s Dutch subsidiary. Marcelo holds a JD in Law with a focus on Intellectual Property from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, an MS in Statistics from Rutgers University, and a BSEE in Digital Electronics from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
