Richard Smith is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in sustainability and technical development within the packaging industry. Currently serving as the Director of Sustainability for Asia Pacific at Amcor since January 2021, Richard has held several leadership roles at Amcor, including Director of Safety, Quality & Sustainability for Amcor Flexibles Asia Pacific - ANZ, and Manufacturing Systems Manager. Richard's career at Amcor began in 2005, where roles included General Manager of Technical Development and Director of R&D and Innovation Excellence. Prior to joining Amcor, Richard held the position of General Manager - Technology at ACI Plastics Packaging. Richard earned a Bachelor of Engineering with a focus on Chemical Engineering from the University of Melbourne between 1982 and 1986.
