David Rettner

President at American Engineering Testing, Inc.

David Rettner is the current President of American Engineering Testing, Inc. (AET). David has been with the company for 17 years and 11 months, starting as a Principal Engineer. During their time at AET, they have also served as Senior Vice President, Vice President, and is now President. David is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of AET's Branch Offices, St. Paul Construction Services, Geotechnical and Pavement Engineering, Concrete Materials Laboratory, Petrographics and Chemistry Division. David also works with AET's leadership team to implement the company's 5-year strategic plan. Prior to their work at AET, Rettner served as the Chief Geotechnical Engineer for the Minnesota Department of Transportation for 19 years and 2 months. In this role, they were responsible for the expansion of the department's service area to include North Dakota and surrounding areas. David also expanded the department's geotechnical engineering and construction materials engineering and testing capabilities with a stronger focus on public works and infrastructure construction. Rettner was the project lead on Highway 212 Design Build Project where they provided quality assurance and quality control/inspection services over a three year period. David was key to the formation of the Pavement Division within AET and grew the division to be the leading pavement engineering and materials testing provider in the region.

David Rettner attended the University of Minnesota from 1980 to 1985, where they studied civil engineering.
