Lei Chen

Lei (Ray) Chen is an accomplished Director at American Express, with a strong background in credit risk management and model risk management. Since December 2016, Lei has led various initiatives including financial relief program design, enhancement of responsible lending actions, and key risk indicator implementation. Previous roles at American Express included managing customer behavior analysis and pandemic impact assessments. Lei's early experience includes roles as a Data Scientist at Dataline, Inc., a co-op at Bristol-Myers Squibb's Global Statistics Group, and an intern at RAB Lighting. Lei holds a Master’s Degree in Statistics/Data Mining from Rutgers University and has pursued a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology at Dartmouth College, in addition to earning a Bachelor's Degree in Biotechnology from the University of Science and Technology of China.
