Patrick Smith has extensive experience in the audio engineering field. Patrick started their career as the Head Audio Engineer at American Idol Productions in 2014. Patrick then worked as an Audio Engineer for Sound Minds for Sound Ideas and as the Production Audio Mixer for Little Big Shots. In 2014, Patrick became the Head Audio Engineer for So You Think You Can Dance and continued in that role until 2015. From 2016 onwards, they worked as the Head Audio Engineer for Harry TV Show and also took on the role of Showtime at the Apollo for Fox (Film, TV and Sports). In 2019, Patrick became self-employed as an Audio Engineer. Prior to these roles, they had a long tenure as the Head Audio Engineer for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno from 1992 to 2014.

Patrick Smith attended Fulton High School from 1979 to 1983, where they obtained a Diploma. Patrick then went on to study Music Production/Engineering at Berklee College of Music from 1983 to 1987, earning a B.A. degree.
