Wayne Killmer is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as the Director of Engineering at AMETEK SURFACE VISION, a position held since April 2021. Previously, Wayne was the Director of Software Engineering at AMETEK from July 2015 to April 2021, concentrating on Machine Vision applications for the Surface Inspection Business Unit. Prior experience includes serving as Non-Core Engineering Manager at Cognex from October 2009 to July 2015, where Wayne led a team in developing advanced computer vision applications. Wayne began a technical career as a Senior Software Engineer at Monitoring Tech Corporation and held a Junior Software Engineer position at International Paper, focusing on software development for automated lab testing and managing databases for paper machine efficiency analysis. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Computer Software Engineering from the University of Minnesota, obtained between 2018 and 2020, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from St. Cloud State University, completed in 1995.
