Dan Gschwend is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in data sciences and informatics, currently serving as the Director of Data Sciences - Operations Data Strategy & Governance at Amgen since June 2006. In this role, Dan pioneers the development of Amgen's Enterprise Data Fabric, focusing on enhancing data interoperability, accessibility, quality, and analytics across global operations. Previous roles at Amgen include Director of Information Architecture with a strong emphasis on data strategy and semantic foundations, as well as leadership positions in R&D informatics. Prior to Amgen, Dan contributed to ArQule's research informatics capabilities as a Research Fellow and held various scientific positions at Helios Pharmaceuticals. Dan earned a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of California, San Francisco, and holds dual bachelor's degrees in Chemistry and Biological Sciences from Cornell University. Additionally, Dan is a certified Part 107 Remote Pilot.
