Neil MacPhail

Neil MacPhail is an experienced professional in the pharmaceutical industry, currently serving as Director of Global Operations at Amgen since October 2012. In this role, Neil manages cross-organizational teams to facilitate the development of clinical and commercial products across therapeutic areas including cardiovascular, inflammation, nephrology, and oncology. Prior to this, Neil held the position of Principal Engineer at Amgen, focusing on oral solid dosage form programs during late-stage clinical development and commercialization. Previously, Neil worked at Merck from February 2003 to October 2012 as a Senior Specialist in Engineering, where responsibilities included developing scalable pharmaceutical processes and applying quality by design principles. Neil also served as a formulation scientist, specializing in stable formulations for early-stage clinical development. Neil holds a Master of Engineering degree in Chemical and Process Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, earned between 1997 and 2002.
