Omar Mather

Omar Mather is an accomplished medical professional with extensive expertise in clinical safety and risk management, particularly in the oncology therapeutic area. Currently serving as the Associate Vice President and Head of Therapeutic Area Safety at Amgen, Omar Mather is responsible for developing innovative safety strategies while leading a global team of safety experts. Previously, Omar Mather held significant roles at Merck and Amgen, including Executive Director of Clinical Safety and Risk Management, and Medical Director for Global Safety. With a robust background in pharmacovigilance, Omar Mather has played a pivotal role in the regulatory approval processes of key therapies, such as Lumakras. Omar Mather began a medical career in pediatrics, serving as an attending physician and assistant professor, which laid the foundation for a successful transition into industry-focused safety and risk management.
