Stephan Zech is an accomplished pharmaceutical scientist with extensive experience in drug discovery and biophysics. Currently serving as the Head of Affinity Screening Assays and NMR Structure at Amgen since September 2017, Stephan leads the Structural Chemistry and Affinity Screening team and has established innovative biophysical methods. Prior to Amgen, Stephan held various roles at ARIAD Pharmaceuticals, Inc., including Research Fellow and Associate Director, where significant contributions were made to drug discovery projects and therapeutic portfolios. Earlier experience includes work at EPIX Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as a Staff Scientist, specializing in protein-protein interactions for MRI contrast agents. Stephan's educational background includes postdoctoral research in Structural Biology from Columbia University and Biophysics from Freie Universität Berlin.
