Will Shapiro

Will Shapiro is an experienced data scientist and executive with a strong background in architecture and mathematics. Shapiro served as Head of Research and Data Scientist at Seed Scientific from August 2014 to June 2015, and later became the Head of Research and Analytics at Spotify until February 2017. Shapiro co-founded and led Topos Inc. as CEO from February 2017 to February 2021, before assuming roles at Flatiron Health as VP of Data Science and Chief of AI until December 2024. In academia, Shapiro was an Assistant Professor, Adjunct at The Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture at The Cooper Union from September 2013 to May 2022. Currently, Shapiro holds the position of Vice President, AI and Data Science at Amgen. Educational accomplishments include a Bachelor of Architecture from The Cooper Union, a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Brown University, and study in mathematics at the University of Cambridge, along with a withdrawn Ph.D. in Mathematics from The University of Chicago.
