Yan Chu is currently a PhD student in biomedical informatics at UTHealth and a Graduate Research Assistant at both UTHealth and UT MD Anderson Cancer Center. With a background that includes a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a master's degree in statistics, Yan's research has focused on various healthcare topics, such as medical imaging, machine learning applications in rehabilitation, and predictive modeling for lymphopenia. Yan has gained recognition as the national champion of the healthcare anti-fraud academic competition and delivered a talk on anomaly detection in health insurance claims. Recently, Yan worked as a Biostat Manager at Amgen, contributing to projects involving Bayesian hierarchical models in clinical research.
