Mendy Hooks is the Vice President of Strategic Programs at Amira Learning, a position held since 2025. Previously, Mendy worked as the Director of Academic Support for Memphis-Shelby County Schools from 2015 to 2023, where they created large-scale programs aligned with state legislation and managed substantial budgets. Mendy began their career as a teacher at Shelby County Schools from 2008 to 2013. They also served in various roles at the Oklahoma State Department of Education, overseeing significant educational divisions and budgets. Mendy is currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education at The University of Memphis, along with additional licensure and a Master of Science in Educational Theory and Practice.
