Eric Thompson

Eric Thompson has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Eric is currently employed as a Principal Engineer at AMOG since June 2022. Prior to this, Eric worked at Serco as a Technical Director on the ASRV 'Icebreaker' Project from May 2017 to October 2022, and as a National Engineering Manager from December 2016 to May 2017. Before joining Serco, they served as an FPSO Asset Manager at MODEC, Inc. from April 2012 to December 2016. Eric also has experience in project management, having worked as a Project Manager Shipbuilds at Lamprell from May 2007 to April 2012, and as a Senior Project Engineer at Nova Systems from December 2006 to May 2007. Eric began their professional career in the Royal Australian Navy as a Marine Engineer Officer, where they served from January 1997 to December 2006.

Eric Thompson earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from UNSW between 1998 and 2001. Eric then pursued an Advanced Diploma in Engineering Management, a Diploma in Leadership and Management, and a Diploma in Government Management from UNSW between 2001 and 2002. In 2004 and 2005, they obtained a Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety Management from TAFE NSW. In addition to their formal education, Eric has obtained several certifications, including Certified Fellow Asset Management (CFAM) from the Asset Management Council, Chartered Marine Engineer (CMarEng), Chartered Professional Engineer (CEng), and Fellow (FIMarEST) from The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST), and Project Management Professional (PMP) from PMI.
