Eric Thompson earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from UNSW between 1998 and 2001. Eric then pursued an Advanced Diploma in Engineering Management, a Diploma in Leadership and Management, and a Diploma in Government Management from UNSW between 2001 and 2002. In 2004 and 2005, they obtained a Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety Management from TAFE NSW. In addition to their formal education, Eric has obtained several certifications, including Certified Fellow Asset Management (CFAM) from the Asset Management Council, Chartered Marine Engineer (CMarEng), Chartered Professional Engineer (CEng), and Fellow (FIMarEST) from The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST), and Project Management Professional (PMP) from PMI.
