Zhen Qi

Zhen Qi has extensive work experience in the field of electrical and control systems engineering.

From 2023 to present, they work at Amogy as the Electrical and Controls Engineering Manager.

Before that, from 2022 to 2023, they worked as an Offshore Wind Software Engineer at Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company.

From 2021 to 2022, Zhen Qi worked as a Control Systems Engineer Senior II at the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).

Prior to that, from 2018 to 2021, they held the position of Principal Controls Engineer at Orbital Traction, Ltd, where they led the development and simulation of continuously variable transmission (CVT) control systems for heavy-duty vehicles.

In 2018, they also worked as a Senior Technical Staff at Hyliion, where they focused on the development and simulation of hybrid powertrain control systems for heavy-duty vehicles and optimization of electrical and control systems for fuel efficiency improvement.

From 2012 to 2017, Zhen Qi worked as an Advanced Controls and Automation Engineer at FMC Technologies, where they led the development of control system technologies for sub-sea multiphase pump control systems and oil and gas production systems.

Zhen started their career in 2008 as a Principal Controls Engineer at Intelligent Energy, where they led the development of distributed control systems for fuel cell and hydrogen generation combined heat and power systems.

Zhen Qi's education history begins with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Henan University of Science and Technology, which was obtained between 1996 and 2000. They then pursued a Master of Science degree in Control System and Engineering from the same institution, completing it between 2000 and 2003.

Zhen Qi furthered their education by attending the University of Wyoming from 2004 to 2008, where they obtained a Ph.D. in Robotic and Control Systems, with a specialization in Computer Vision.

In 2013, Zhen Qi enrolled at the University of Houston's C.T. Bauer College of Business, earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Energy and Finance. Their studies in this field lasted until 2016.

In addition to their formal education, Zhen Qi has also obtained several certifications. These include a Graduate Certificate in Economics of the Energy Value Chain, a Graduate Certificate in Energy Finance, a Graduate Certificate in Energy Investment Analysis, and a Graduate Certificate in Energy Risk Management. These certifications were received in September 2016 from the University of Houston. Furthermore, they acquired two certifications from LinkedIn: "Introduction to Digital Twins" in October 2021 and "Leading with Innovation" in September 2021.
