Daan Methorst

Daan Methorst is a researcher and PhD student at AMOLF, with a focus on nanoscale solar cell technology. Methorst has experience as a self-employed chef, managing culinary operations in various restaurants and events since January 2019. Previous positions include a master’s research internship in the Nanoscale Solar Cell group at AMOLF, where work was conducted on perovskite overgrowth techniques, and a role as a Public Relations board member at D.E.R.M., overseeing business contacts and sustainability policies. Methorst also served as executive chef at Ranked eSports and worked as a cook at Brouwerij Troost. Educational credentials include a master's degree in Advanced Matter and Energy Physics from the University of Amsterdam, with earlier studies culminating in a VWO diploma from Sint Vituscollege Bussum.
