Mark Smith

Dr. Smith is theFounding Chief Innovation Officer of MedStar Health as well as the Director of the MedStar Institute for Innovation (MI2). He is on the faculty of Georgetown University as a Professor and Former Academic Chair of Emergency Medicine. Mark received his MD from Yale after he was mentored by Alan Kay (A.M. Turing Laureate) at Stanford during his Master’s Degree in Computer Science focused on network theory and what is now termed predictive analytics. He received his mathematics degree from Swarthmore.
