Mark Charney is a distinguished engineer at Ampere, a position held since July 2021. Prior to this role, Mark served as a senior principal engineer at Intel Corporation for nearly two decades, where responsibilities included opcode allocation and instruction set design for the x86 ISA, collaborating with a global team to transition technologies from pathfinding to production. Earlier experience includes a position as a software engineer at Transmeta and as a research staff member at IBM Research. Mark holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and a BSE in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University.
