Paul Benoit has extensive work experience in the software engineering field. Paul began their career at Digital Equipment Corporation, where they worked as a Software Principal Engineer and led a team in maintaining and enhancing the Session Control layer of the DECnet/OSI product. Paul also made significant contributions to the IP address resource failover subsystem of the Digital Clusters for Windows NT product.
After their time at Digital Equipment Corporation, Paul worked as a Principal Software Engineer at Bright Tiger/Allaire/Macromedia, where they served as a project leader and consultant for the ClusterCATS Web clustering server components. Paul then joined HP/Oracle as a Contractor/Consultant, where they provided expert consulting on operating system and network stack internals for Oracle's Rdb Engineering team.
Paul later worked at Marathon Technologies as a Principal Software Engineer, where they made significant contributions to a new High Availability product variant with an aggressive six-month time-to-market schedule. Paul joined Avid Technology next and served as a Principal Software Engineer in the Shared/Networked Storage group, focusing on the design and implementation of RAID5 and RAID6 storage protection for a complex distributed/clustered file system.
Paul has also worked at Oracle - Linux and Virtualization, where they held the roles of Principal Member of Technical Staff. Paul'sprimary contributions included enhancing and maintaining Windows Paravirtualized device drivers and investigating and fixing Linux kernel issues related to Xen and KVM virtualization. Paul also contributed to the development of a new multi-platform Cluster File System and implemented the Logical Volume Manager device driver for the AIX platform.
In their most recent role, Paul joined Qualcomm as a Windows Kernel Developer on the Nuvia team, where they worked on Windows OS development.
Currently, Paul is a Senior Principal Software Engineer at Ampere, specializing in Windows OS development.
Paul Benoit has a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Systems Engineering from Boston University and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
