Michael D'Aurizio has a long and varied work experience. Michael began their career in 2007 as a Legal Associate at Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP and a Global Credit Analyst at RBC Capital Markets. In 2008 they took on the role of Business Development Coordinator at the University of Waterloo. From 2010 to 2017 they worked at Direct Energy, starting as a Manager of Business Strategy and eventually becoming a Senior Analyst of Business Strategy. During this time, they also had roles as an Investment Manager and Investment Director at Centrica, as well as Board Observer roles at Omnidian and LO3 Energy. In 2021, they became an Investment Director of Climate Technology at HSBC. Currently, they are a Board Director at Amperon and a Board Observer at Huue.
Michael D'Aurizio has a diverse educational background, beginning with a Honours Bachelor of Arts & Business from the University of Waterloo between 2005 and 2010, where they studied Political Science and International Trade. In 2008, they participated in a Study Abroad Program at Macquarie University, focusing on Political Science and Government. Michael also holds several certifications, including an edX Verified Certificate for Energy Within Environmental Constraints obtained in September 2016, an Options Strategies Course from the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI) obtained in January 2010, a Derivatives Fundamental Course from the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI) obtained in October 2009, and a Canadian Securities Course from the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI) obtained in June 2008. Most recently, Michael completed a Venture Capital program at The Wharton School in 2019.
