Andrés Idiart, PhD, is an experienced professional in civil and environmental engineering with a focus on advanced modeling solutions in geomechanics, geochemistry, and multi-physics. Currently serving as Operations Manager, Group Manager, and Project Director at Amphos 21 since September 2010, Andrés specializes in projects related to nuclear waste management, mining, and the Oil & Gas industries. Previous roles include Consultant Engineer and Project Manager at Oxand S.A., where project management for concrete structures in the Nuclear and LNG sectors was key. A former Marie Curie Post-doctoral Fellow, Andrés engaged in coupled chemo-mechanical modeling of sulfate attack in concrete, supported by a multidisciplinary European team. Education credentials include a PhD in Civil Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and a Master of Science from USP - Universidade de São Paulo, among other qualifications.
