Christopher Grainger

Christopher Grainger has a diverse work experience, starting in 2014. Christopher worked as a Research Assistant at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment (GRI) from February 2014 to September 2016, where they focused on researching topics related to low carbon innovations and technological diffusion using various econometric and statistical methods, including natural language processing and machine learning. Their current projects at GRI involve developing a new measure of the technological position of firms using unstructured data and creating a machine learning algorithm to assign a novelty score to patents without relying on citation data.

In addition, Christopher also worked as a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant at University College London from November 2014 to June 2016. Furthermore, they served as a Research Assistant at Imperial College London from July 2014 to February 2015.

Lastly, Christopher's most recent role is as a Co-Founder of Amplified, starting in September 2016.

Christopher Grainger has a diverse education history. Christopher began their academic journey at The University of Edinburgh from 2006 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors in History. Building upon this foundation, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Sustainability (Transport) at the University of Leeds from 2012 to 2013. Following this, they further expanded their knowledge by completing a Master of Science degree in Economics and Policy of Energy and the Environment at UCL from 2013 to 2014. Christopher Grainger's educational accomplishments culminated in their attainment of a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Energy and Economics from UCL between the years 2014 and 2019.
