Ben Thomas

Ben Thomas has a diverse and extensive work experience. Ben currently holds the position of Chief Executive Officer at AMPLY Discovery since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Queen's University Belfast from November 2018 to September 2021. From September 2009 to September 2013, they served as a Business English Instructor at Centre de Formation d'Apprentis CCI Le Mans Sarthe. Ben also has experience in the agricultural sector, working as a Farmer for WWOOF France from September 2008 to September 2013. Earlier in their career, they worked at Aegon Asset Management as a Technical Solutions Manager from November 2001 to September 2008. Ben started their professional journey as a Database Developer at Quadstone in February 2001 before transitioning to being a Technical Consultant at Telesens from September 1999 to January 2001. Ben's career began as a Business System Analyst at Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks from September 1997 to September 1999.

Ben Thomas completed their Bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences at the University of Warwick from 1994 to 1997. Ben then pursued a Master's degree in Biology, Geography, and International Politics with a focus on Food and Water Security at the Department of International Politics at Aberystwyth University, from 2014 to 2015. Subsequently, from 2015 to 2018, Ben Thomas obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biomathematics, Bioinformatics, and Computational Biology from Aberystwyth University.
