Robert O'Brien has over 13 years of experience in the field of engineering and maintenance. Robert began their career in 1987 as an Electrical Apprenticeship at General Motors, where they were commended for assuming ownership of automated guided vehicles equipment repair and maintenance. Robert then completed an 8000 hour Electrical Apprenticeship, achieving an 88% overall program average. In 2003, they joined Dell as a Maintenance Analyst/Trainer and Maintenance Specialist, where they managed a technical team, improved safety initiatives, and was instrumental in the setup of new robotic lines. From 2009 to 2011, they worked as a Senior Maintenance Mechanic at Hospira, a Field Service Engineer at Anton Paar GmbH, and a Field Service Engineer II at HealthTronics, Inc. From 2015 to 2022, they worked as a Field Service Engineer at Hologic, Inc., where they provided maintenance, support, and installation of molecular diagnostic, cytology, and Histology based equipment. Robert is currently a Senior Field Service Engineer/Analyst at bp pulse fleet (formerly AMPLY Power).

Robert O'Brien began their educational journey in 1981, when they enrolled in Durham College to pursue a two-year degree in Electronics. In 1987, they returned to Durham College to complete an apprenticeship in Electrical. In 1997, they obtained a Certificate from the Canadian Securities Institute in Securities.
