Rick Southard

Rick Southard is the Standards Senior Editor at the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP), a position held since 2021. Prior to this role, they served as a Senior Editor in the Technical Activities Department at NACE International from 2013 to 2021, and as Director of the National Surface Treatment Center from 2009 to 2012. Rick's military career spanned over two decades as a Naval Officer, reaching the rank of Commander in Surface Warfare from 1978 to 2001. They hold a BA in Chemistry from the University of Louisville and an MA in National Security & Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College.
