David Curtis serves as the Co-Director for Innovation at the EPSRC MADE4Manufacturing CDT, while also holding the position of Head of Research at the University of Sheffield AMRC since March 2009. In addition to these roles, David is a Professor of Subtractive Manufacturing at The University of Sheffield and engaged in various leadership positions, including Chair of the HVMC Subtractive Manufacturing Technology Special Purpose Group and Director at the British Gear Association. David has contributed to several organizations, including CIRP as a Corporate Member and has been active in the Institution of Mechanical Engineers as an Associate Member. With a solid educational background from the University of Birmingham, David holds a Ph.D. and M.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering and has previously co-directed the IDC in Machining Science and chaired relevant working groups within the High Value Manufacturing Catapult.
