David King

Head Of Digital Design at AMRC

David King's work experience includes serving as the Insigneo Research Theme Director - Smart Devices and Sensors at The University of Sheffield since June 2022. In this role, they focus on developing novel devices and technologies to gain insights into human health and integrate them into clinical studies.

Prior to their current position, David held several roles at AMRC, starting as a Control Systems Engineer at Riverside Automation from October 1998 to November 1999. David then worked at Land Instruments International as a Senior Software Engineer from 1999 to 2008. At Ametek (Land Instruments International), they served as a Software Manager from June 2008 to August 2014 and later took on the role of Global Product & Programme Manager: Software from September 2014 to August 2016.

Finally, David worked at AMRC as a Senior Project Engineer from September 2016 to February 2019, during which they managed a team responsible for developing control systems, software, and hardware for the AMRC and its partners. David was also involved in the development of the world's first large-volume high-speed sintering machine.

In January 2022, David became the Head of Digital Design at AMRC, a position they currently hold.

David King has a diverse education history that includes multiple degrees and certifications in various fields. David started their academic journey by pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering with Honors in Electronic Systems and Control Engineering from Sheffield Hallam University, achieving a first-class degree between 1994 and 1998.
