Brian Hamilton

Brian Hamilton, MSGE, PG has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles.

Brian currently serves as a Senior Principal at Amtrak's Capital Delivery Engineering Services team, where they work on large-scale projects such as the new Hudson River Tunnel, East River Tunnel Rehabilitation, and New York Penn Station Expansion. Brian is the Design/Technical Lead for the East River Tunnel Rehabilitation Program.

Prior to their role at Amtrak, Brian founded and served as the Executive Editor and Blogger for Skyblue Overland LLC, where they spread the idea of an adventurous lifestyle through various outlets such as Instagram, blogs, and social media.

Brian also held positions at Fluor Corporation, serving as a Senior Project Director and Deputy Project Executive Director/Deputy CEO for Denver Transit Partners on the Eagle P3 project. Additionally, they worked at Jacobs as a Senior Project Manager, providing technical expertise in design, construction, and project management.

Earlier in their career, Brian worked at URS Corporation as a Resident Engineer and Regional Manager in the surface transportation practice, and at Gall Zeidler Consultants, LLC as a Senior Tunnel Engineer.

Brian began their career at HNTB as a Senior Construction Project Manager, and at Shannon & Wilson, Inc. as a Project Engineering Geologist, focusing on railroad services group projects involving tunnel rehabilitation, subsurface investigations, and slope engineering.

Overall, Brian Hamilton has a wealth of experience in large-scale project management, engineering, and technical expertise in the infrastructure and transportation sectors.

Brian Hamilton, MSGE, PG has an educational background in Geology and Geological Engineering. Brian earned a BS in Geology with a minor in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1987. Prior to that, they attended Olivet Nazarene University in 1984-1985, where they studied Geology before transferring to the University of Illinois. In 1989, Brian completed their MS in Geological Engineering at South Dakota Mines. Additionally, they obtained certification as a Professional Geologist from The Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience in June 1998.
