Christopher Madden

Christopher Madden is an experienced engineering professional with a focus on passenger rail systems, currently serving as the Director of Engineering for Passenger Equipment & Systems at Amtrak since January 2006. In this capacity, Christopher oversees technical authority for over 1500 passenger trainsets in North America, emphasizing vehicle procurement and maintenance. Previous roles include Senior Manager of High-Speed Rail Equipment Engineering, where Christopher directed the creation of industry standards and managed engineering change processes, and Fleet Director for High-Speed Rail Maintenance Engineering, focusing on system reliability. Christopher's engineering career began with in-depth root cause analysis at the Principal Engineer level and has included positions such as Maintenance Engineer and Operational Engineering Coordinator. Christopher holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy.
