Jim Cook

Jim Cook is the AVP and Assistant Chief of Police at Amtrak Police Department, where they direct day-to-day operations and serve as the chief strategist for long-term departmental objectives. With a strong background in law enforcement, having held various roles at Amtrak from 2011 to 2014—including Captain in the Office of Internal Affairs—Jim has developed a profound knowledge in managing investigations, public safety programs, and media relations. They are currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from the University of Phoenix, alongside two Master's Degrees in Security Studies and Criminal Justice from the Naval Postgraduate School and Boston University, respectively. Jim is known for their exceptional communication skills and commitment to improving community safety and operational performance.
