Joseph Barr

Joseph Barr is an experienced transportation professional currently serving as the Director of Network Development-East at Amtrak since October 2022. Previously, Joseph held the role of Commissioner of Transportation for the City of Cambridge for over seven years, alongside significant positions such as Senior Supervising Planner at Parsons Brinckerhoff and Director of Transit Development at the New York City Department of Transportation. Joseph's career in transportation planning began as an intern at MultiSystems, followed by a role as a Transportation Planner for the City of Cambridge. Joseph holds a Master of Science in Transportation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Northwestern University.
