Laura McWethy

Laura McWethy is a seasoned professional in transportation planning and demand forecasting, currently serving as the Director of Demand Forecasting at Amtrak since November 2022. Previously, Laura was the Passenger Rail Forecasting Lead at AECOM for over a decade, where expertise in statewide and intercity transportation planning was demonstrated through more than 25 studies for state departments and Amtrak. Prior roles include Travel Demand Forecaster at Cambridge Systematics and Graduate Research Assistant at The University of Texas, where significant contributions were made in model development and statistical analysis. Laura holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Calvin University.
