Sara Appleton

Sara Appleton serves as the Assistant Director of Capital Project Delivery at Amtrak since January 2022, previously holding the position of Senior Manager in the same department. Prior experience includes roles as Engagement Manager and Consultant at McKinsey & Company, where project management and strategic advisory for government leaders on transportation and economic issues were key responsibilities. Sara also served as a Board Member on Manhattan Community Board 4, appointed by Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, focusing on community advocacy and involvement in several committees. Additional experience encompasses senior project management at the New York City Economic Development Corporation, work as a Senior Analyst at Kobre & Kim LLP, and a Foreign Service Internship at the U.S. Department of State in Moscow. Educational qualifications include an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in History and Russian from Georgetown University.
