Matthew Runyon has over a decade of experience in scientific leadership and innovation within biotechnology and life sciences. At Amway from 2012 to 2015, serving as Principal Scientist, Runyon established a global microbiome technology platform and led external scientific partnerships. As Senior Manager of Global Sciences, direct accountability for a diverse team of approximately 30 scientists resulted in enhanced team engagement and value. Runyon's tenure also included significant roles as Senior Research Scientist/Bioengineer and Senior Principal Research Scientist in open innovation, focusing on microbiome strategy and execution. Prior to Amway, Runyon was a Senior Scientist at Arryx, Inc., where development of a microfluidic blood-based diagnostics platform and collaboration on blood typing technologies were key contributions. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Chemistry, specializing in Microfluidics and Hemostasis from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Polymer Chemistry from the University of Southern California.
