Amyris
John Hung has worked in a variety of roles in the biotechnology industry since 2006. John began their career as a Laboratory Technician at Washington University in St. Louis in 2006. In 2008, they became a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In 2009, they were a Visiting Scholar at the University of Bristol. From 2013 to 2014, they were a Senior Scientist for New Product Development at Sigma-Aldrich. Since 2014, they have been at Amyris, where they have served as a Scientist 1, Scientist 2, Scientist 3, Senior Scientist, and Associate Director of Biology. In their roles at Amyris, they have led a team of scientists responsible for enzyme improvement and discovery campaigns, identified and prioritized areas to improve integration of the Amyris R&D pipeline, and directly led a team of 6 scientists embedded on a molecule development project.
John Hung received their B.A. in Chemistry from Washington University in St. Louis in 2008, and their PhD in Chemistry from the University of Illinois in 2013.
