Director, Cybersecurity Programs at Amyx

William Cummings is the current Director of Cybersecurity Programs at Amyx. Before that, they worked as an Information Assurance Manager at Computer Systems Center Incorporated from November 2013 to June 2014. In that role, they were responsible for ensuring Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Automated Information Systems (AIS) nodes were operated and maintained in accordance with Marine Corps and DOD security policies and practices. This included reviewing and developing C&A support documentation (COOP, SSP, DRM, SOPs, CT&Es) and notifying the customer when changes occur that might affect AIS accreditation/certification. William also developed System Information Profile (SIP) and DIACAP Implementation Plans (DIP), performed risk assessment processes including Risk Assessment Reports (RAR), DISA STIGs, generated Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M), and validated implementation of DOD 8500.2 IA Controls and SP 800-53 Rev4 controls on both classified and unclassified information system environments.

In addition to their work at Computer Systems Center Incorporated, William Cummings has also supported programs following the rules and regulations outlined in the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Industrial Security Field Operations (ISFO), and the Office of the Designated Approving Authority (ODAA). William has also assessed current systems with new DoDI 8510.01 (RMF) and updated C&A packages to include the mapping of DIACAP IA Controls to SP 800-53 Rev4.
