D S Velan has worked in the IT recruitment industry since 2007. D S Velan began their career as an HR/Admin Executive at MMC Associates, where they managed office supplies stock, prepared regular reports on expenses and office budgets, and maintained and updated company databases. In 2015, they joined Wollmia Technologies as a Senior IT Recruiter, where they were responsible for recruitment, job postings on job portals, and shortlisting profiles as per requirement. In 2022, they joined Ana-Data Consulting Inc as a Senior Information Technology Recruiter.

D S Velan completed their education in the following order: a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Annamalai University in 2003, a Master's degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Annamalai University in 2006, a Master of Philosophy - MPhil in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General from Annamalai University in 2010, and a PGDL in Port Management and Logistics from Indian Institute of Logistics in 2016.
