Qi Zhang has extensive work experience in engineering roles. They began their career as a Senior Telecommunications Engineer at Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise in 2005. After that, they took on a role as a Technical Project Manager at Alcatel-Lucent for two years. In 2007, Zhang joined Queen's University Belfast as a PhD Research Engineer, where they focused on designing a traffic management system using FPGA. From 2010 to 2011, they worked as a Hardware Engineer at Xilinx, where they designed and implemented a FPGA-based packet processing prototype. Zhang then joined CapnaDSP in 2011 as a Senior System Engineer, where they worked on host-PC/FPGA communications and developed FPGA-based accelerators. Since 2012, they have been working at Analytics Engines, first as a Senior Engineer and currently as a Principal Engineer. At Analytics Engines, they have been involved in projects such as the development of AE XDP product and the creation of CHIMERA, an investigative journalist data platform utilizing machine learning components.
Qi Zhang received a PhD in Telecommunication from Queen's University Belfast, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. Qi Zhang also obtained a certification as an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in March 2022.
