Robert Weis is an experienced technology leader with a strong background in search platform engineering and IoT solutions. Currently serving as Principal Manager for Search at Ancestry since March 2021, Robert is responsible for leading the engineering efforts for a new backend search platform utilizing Apache Solr. Prior to this role, Robert spent nearly a decade at Verisk Analytics, where significant contributions included directing the architecture and development of the Verisk Telematics Data Exchange platform, managing teams to migrate legacy applications, and designing a multi-datacenter API platform. Robert began his career as a Software Engineer at Quality Planning Corporation after earning a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC Santa Barbara in 2004.
