Michael Whelan is a Principal Engineer at Anchor QEA, holding this position since 2002, where responsibilities include civil and environmental design as well as construction management for environmental remediation, habitat restoration, and site development, with a particular emphasis on solid waste sites and in-water/shoreline environments. Prior to Anchor QEA, Whelan served as a Senior Geotechnical/Remediation Engineer at Hart Crowser / Pincock Allen & Holt from 1995 to 2002, focusing on geotechnical engineering, mining explorations, waste disposal, landslide repair, and contaminated site cleanup. Whelan holds a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, and two Master of Science degrees, one in Environmental Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and another in Geotechnical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
