Jessi Brown

Jessi Brown has an extensive work experience spanning multiple industries. Jessi started their career in 2002 as an HIV Counseling/Testing Educator at the Alachua County Health Department, where they screened patients for disease risk and educated them on safer sexual health practices. Jessi then worked at the Shands Teaching Hospital as a Senior Certified Pharmacy Technician, implementing initiatives that saved $2 million annually and ensuring audit compliance through updated SOPs.

In 2008, Jessi joined the Maryland State Police as a Laboratory Technician, where they maintained laboratory equipment and prepared reagents for serology and DNA analysis. Jessi also served as a Forensic Scientist, completing over 500 court-qualified cases as a serology and DNA typing analyst. Jessi developed an infrared serology screening tool and improved the lab's efficiency in meeting regulatory requirements.

Since 2016, Jessi has been working at ANDE as a Senior Forensic Scientist. In this role, they serve as a lab operations manager, designing and managing complex workflows to meet customer requirements. Jessi also develops processing techniques for rapid DNA analysis across various domains, including forensic, Covid-19, cannabis, and contaminated crude oil applications.

Throughout their career, Jessi has demonstrated strong analytical and technical skills, along with a commitment to efficiency and compliance.

Jessi Brown completed their Bachelor's degree in Health Science Education at the University of Florida from 2001 to 2002. Jessi then pursued a Master's degree in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences with a concentration in Forensic Science at the University of Florida from 2007 to 2009.

In addition to their academic degrees, Jessi has obtained various certifications. In June 2022, they completed the certifications in Data Literacy Fundamentals and SQL Fundamentals from DataCamp. Jessi also obtained the certification for Data Analyst with Python from DataCamp in April 2022. Later, in July 2022, they received the dbt Fundamentals certification from dbt Labs. Most recently, in January 2023, they completed the certification for Data Analyst in SQL from DataCamp.
