Onur Ay

Onur Ay has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. Onur is currently working at Watts as a Commercial Director, where they are responsible for accelerating the green transition and delivering solutions for net-zero journeys. Prior to this, they held roles at Andel as a Commercial Director and Head of Business Development, where they led various efforts in M&A and New Business Development. Onur also has experience as an External Consultant and Chief Consultant in Corporate Strategy at Andel. Before joining Andel, they founded Moon Ventures, an umbrella setup for their personal advisory and investment activities. Onur co-founded Molecular Quantum Solutions, a company that develops computational tools to accelerate R&D efforts in the pharma, biotech, and chemical industries. Onur also worked as a Senior Investment Associate at Maersk Growth, where they supported startups in global trade and logistics. Onur began their career at KPMG Denmark as a Consultant and later became a Senior Consultant. Onur is also a co-founder and board member of CPH Junior Consultants F.M.B.A., a non-profit management consulting firm. Additionally, they co-founded Educoin, a virtual currency that facilitates the exchange of knowledge and skills, and Grammatic.al, a startup that developed cloud-based grammar and spell checking plugins. Onur started their professional journey as an Assistant Engineer at Sweco, where they focused on building-related energy consultancy.

Onur Ay holds a Master's degree in Engineering Management with a focus on Technology Development from DTU - Technical University of Denmark. Onur also pursued a Master's degree in Green Innovation in Cities from Peking University. Additionally, they hold a Bachelor's degree in Sustainable Energy with a specialization in Electrical Engineering from DTU. Onur completed their high school education at Birkerød Gymnasium, STX, HF, IB & Kostskole, where they studied A-levels in Social Science, Mathematics, History, and Danish. In terms of certifications, they obtained Pretotyping (Rapid Idea Validation) from pree.to in 2018, ITIL Foundation Level from AXELOS Global Best Practice in 2016, PRINCE2® Foundation Certification Training from PRINCE2.com in 2016, and Open Water Diver from PADI in 2011.
